Our inspiring journey
The Lewis Impact Foundation Inc. was inspired by a deep passion for helping people overcome life’s challenges and access the support, resources, and opportunities needed to rebuild and thrive. After witnessing the struggles many individuals and families face with food insecurity, economic hardship, housing instability, and barriers after incarceration, the vision was created to provide not just temporary assistance, but lasting solutions that empower people toward self-sufficiency and stability.
Built on a foundation of service, leadership, faith, and community impact, The Lewis Impact Foundation Inc. was established to bridge gaps, restore hope, and create opportunities for underserved communities. What began as a desire to help and uplift others has grown into a mission-driven organization focused on restoring lives, rebuilding futures, and creating generational impact through outreach, mentorship, workforce development, and community support initiatives.

Our big dream for The Lewis Impact Foundation Inc. is to help transform communities like Selma and beyond into places where individuals and families are no longer defined by their circumstances, but empowered by opportunity, access, and support systems that actually work for them.
The vision is to build a sustainable ecosystem of impact—where food insecurity is reduced through consistent access to resources, where workforce development leads to real employment and career pathways, where reentry support creates true second chances, and where housing stability is no longer out of reach for vulnerable populations. Ultimately, the goal is to break cycles of poverty and instability by equipping people with the tools, training, and mentorship needed to build self-sufficient, thriving lives.
Beyond Selma, the dream is to expand this model into other underserved communities—creating a ripple effect of restoration, empowerment, and generational change. It’s about building stronger individuals.

We are not just a service organization—we are a bridge between crisis and transformation. When people connect with our work, we want them to see that every program we offer—whether it’s food assistance, workforce training, reentry support, housing referrals, or mentorship—is designed with dignity, compassion, and long-term change in mind.

Our dedicated team and partners
The work of The Lewis Impact Foundation Inc. is made possible through a network of committed individuals and partners who each play a vital role in carrying out the mission.
At the center is the leadership team and board of directors, who provide vision, structure, and accountability for the organization. This includes Tonia Lewis as Founder/President, along with the Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary, who help guide operations, planning, and financial oversight.
Equally important are our volunteers and community supporters, who help with food distribution, outreach events, mentorship, administrative support, and on-the-ground service delivery. Their time and dedication are essential to reaching individuals and families in need.
We also rely on community partners and stakeholders, including local businesses, churches, nonprofits, housing agencies, and workforce organizations, who collaborate with us by providing resources, referrals, and support services.
